One more thing

On a bit of a sadder note, my great Uncle died on Sunday. His name was Gerard Colman, and you probably don’t know that name but in the days before the internet, he was European Amateur Heavyweight Champion, in 1947 as Gearoid O’Colman. He was possibly the best Irish Heavyweight of all time and certainly one of Ireland’s best ever amateur boxers. I’ll remember him fondly as the man with giant hands in my granny’s house at parties. He was a collosus, a huge man before protein shakes, bodybuilding and all that crap. I last saw him about a year or so ago and even though I was no longer 8 years old, when I shook his hand mine dissappeared inside his. So RIP a great Irish sportsman.
