2026 Training Log Part 18

On the Stereo today- A bit of Black Sabbath.

Great training week. Great rounds, great gym work, great nutrition, good sleep. These don’t happen often so I always take time to appreciate when they do.

Monday

Morning Conditioning work

  1. 20 minute interval hill climber on the bike. Tough.
  2. A) Bent over row x8 B) Handle Push Ups x10 C) Bodyweight Squat x10. AMRAP 15mins
  3. Core circuit

Evening- Jiu Jitsu

Working on pressure passing. Not too hard on the sparring front this evening. Just 4×2 min positionals and 3x5min rounds.

Tuesday

Prehab session

  1. Seated Row 3×15
  2. face Pulls 3×20
  3. Cable press 3×15
  4. Core and Low Back circuit x3

Evening NoGi. 12x5min rounds. Tough but good.

Wednesday

Morning Jiu Jitsu in Roger’s academy. Always nice to get out of the office. Some positionals followed by 4x5min rounds.

Evening Jiu Jitsu. Can you do Jiu Jitsu with a migraine? Turns out you can, just not very well. But got through. 6x5min rounds.

Friday

Straightforward Strength

  1. Close Grip Bench w/u to 5 at 90kgs
  2. Wide grip bench 2xmax
  3. Seated T-Bar row 3×18
  4. Weighted Knee raise 3×20
  5. Squat curls 3×15
  6. Pushdowns 2×20
  7. Lat raises 3×15

Saturday

NoGi.

Long warm up. Started with rounds. Did 4 good ones, and on the 5th I accidentally injured someone. Had to sit out with him. He’s all good, but I cut my session short obviously.

Training Thoughts of the Week

Great training week as I said, but it did end on a bit of a bummer with an injury. Happens I suppose but still not nice to have to deal with. Thankfully he’ll be back on the mats soon and it’s not too serious.

Non-Training Thoughts of the Week

I am locked in. I have no thoughts outside of training for the next few weeks. Don’t expect any.

See you on the mat,

Barry
