2026 Training Log Part 17

On the Stereo today- Nothing. I’m sitting in the gym watching class.

Another compressed training week, complicated by running the Irish Open at the weekend, my busiest week of the year, so i wasn’t expecting much and wasn’t disappointed!

Monday

Evening Jiu Jitsu

Good session. Got about 6 rounds in plus a lot of positionals. I’m trying to keep a high pace when I’m rolling in Kyuzo, and keeping my more tactical game for when I train in other gyms. That means I get to the end of most of these nights exhausted, which is nice.

Tuesday

Mixed conditioning session.

  1. A) Close Grip Bench 5×8 B) Single Arm Cable Row 5×10
  2. “Jammer” press 3×20
  3. Half kneeling kettlebell press (single arm) 3×12
  4. Lat pulldown 3×15
  5. Core circuit x3
  6. Single arm cable pushdowns 3×25

Thursday

The work kicked in, so not much chance so I got out and ran in the morning for some weight management. Maybe 5k? Didn’t check.

Training Thoughts of the Week

Pretty much a nothing week. No time to train. That’s the events business! Back on it from today.

Non-Training Thoughts of the Week

I am locked in. I have no thoughts outside of training for the next few weeks. Don’t expect any.
