I came back to BJJ last night. I rolled with 5 lads and none of them damaged my back. Result! I’ll just have to keep on top of the rehab/prehab and hopefully I’ll make my competitive return in the BJJ Open on November 22nd.
My little fight brother Paddy steps into the ring again tomorrow against a really good Belgian fighter. The guy outweighs Paddy, trains at a top K1 gym in Belgium and is about a foot taller than him. Now I don’t know about you but that sounds like he’s tailor made for Paddy the giant killer. Paddy is in the best shape I’ve ever seen him in thanks to Will’s programming and his own hard, hard work. War baby.
And yes my weight gain programme has turned into a weight loss one. I was up 2kgs in a week and then I got sick at the Drysdale seminar. I don’t know whether it was swine flu, the winter vomiting bug or ebola but what I do know is that between Monday 19th and Monday 26th I went from 86kgs to 81.5kgs. As of yesterday I had put back on 2 kigs and I’m floating around 83-84kgs, but it has dealt a serious blow to the mass gaining programme.
Fighter conditioning tomorrow at 11am followed by Shayn’s last heavy sparring session before his fight next week. Be there!
I’ll miss tomorrow as I’ll be away, but I’ll be thinking of you all out there pushing that prowler when I’m sitting in a Madrid bar.
Anyway I’d be even more useless than normal because, in the spirit of Halloween (and due to my weak neck muskles) I’m currently doing an excellent Frankenstein impersonation.
Oh and by the way. GO PADDY!!!!!!!
Stephen Frankenstein is a good look , Will and Dan have been pulling it off for years !
Hope the neck heals up ok,.
