never argue with an idiot…

I’ll give you a little anecdote this week. It’s not long don’t worry. I was giving a talk to some kids yesterday afternoon on Self Defence. Now usually when I’m hired to do a self defence/martial arts course, I give a small talk to satisfy the self defence angle, and then I just get the group … Continue reading →

let's leave it to chance

“… breaking my established patterns was threatening to my deeply ingrained selves and pricked me to a level of consciousness which is unusual, unusual since the whole instinct of human behavior is to find environments congenial to the relaxation of consciousness. By creating problems for myself I created thought. I also created problems”                            -Luke … Continue reading →

balance… thing

I’m posting tonight (Sunday) because I won’t have time during the week and I’m determined to keep my schedule of once per week blogging up. Abmar Barbosa's coming to town

I’ve just got the final word on our Abmar Barbosa seminar, and the good news is, it’s not a seminar. Every time I get someone over to train or do a seminar I think to myself how great it would be to get them to teach not just for a day but for a whole … Continue reading →

Thrills, Spills and Bellyaches

This weekend I took a trip to Manchester; home of The Stone Roses, some Arab football team and Coronation Street. I was there to commentate on Cage Contender 6, the first Irish show to have a stab at organising an event in England. More on that later. Luckily for me, I got to take in … Continue reading →

What I've Learned

So first of all, it’s been a while since I’ve updated the blog. My apologies once again. It seems like I’m always apologising for that but I live for the day that I’m quiet enough in my working life to update this more regularly. Actually, who am I kidding? I love being busy and it’s … Continue reading →
